OK, I’m playing fast and loose with the word “approved”, but I think you’ll find these link building methods pretty sound. Not all SEOs agree with these techniques, but I do. They are not “blackhat” by any stretch. They will build you good, solid links, but they each do require a time commitment and a budget. However, all things considered, they are less expensive than the most popular link building methods – so I guess you could say that’s a positive. The Best Premium WordPress Themes for 2018.
I am going to talk about 3 types of relevant link building but, I highly recommend that a blended approach is taken to build trust over a period of time. This chart explains the approach better:
It’s not original. I’ve discussed all of these methods before. But this blog post by Michael Martinez is what prompted today’s post. I can’t vouch for the Fantomaster service he reviews here in this article, but I can vouch for the three link building methods as proven. Here they are in reverse order:
Article Distribution – You don’t necessarily need a subscription service to succeed at article marketing. But articles do build good, solid links. If you can write and submit 10 articles a day, more power to you. If you can only do 5 a day then that’s OK too. The important thing is that you write and submit articles as often as you can. Articles build links, period.

Blogging – Yes, blogging builds links. But the way it is taught by most gurus, you wouldn’t think so. That’s why most people only use one blog, and don’t do that very consistently. Nevertheless, multiple blogs building links to one site can help that site tremendously over time. You can build good, solid links from multiple blogs. But take this to heart: Put all of your blogs on different IP blocks (ie completely different web hosts) and build links to your website from each of them. You’ll get a real good solid link base.

Microsites – Microsites are, for some reason, quite controversial. Not all SEOs like them. They aren’t, however, “spammy” as some SEOs will accuse them of being, especially if you do them correctly. And they can build you some good quality links.

I don’t endorse all forms of linkbuilding, but I do use – and encourage others to use – these three methods. They work. They’re acceptable from a search engine perspective. And they’re ethical.
Premium WordPress Themes – Link Diversity
It takes time to build links. But if you’re going to do it then you might as well do it right. Build your links with diversity in mind.
But what exactly is link diversity?
Link diversity is link building that incorporates a multi-faceted approach to building links so that inbound links to your website come from a variety of sources with a variety of PageRank authority and high amount of relevance. It’s true that high authority sites within your niche that are aged will send you better link juice than low authority new upstart websites that are not relevant. But why turn down a good link juice because it’s worth a nickel and not a quarter?
There are several ways to go about link building. You shouldn’t limit yourself to just one way. In order to build a diverse portfolio of links, you need to expand your horizons beyond directory submissions and article marketing. Yes, you should include those in your strategy, but don’t limit yourself to them. Get creative.
Some other ways you can build links back to your website include:
- Posting in forums
- Commenting on blogs
- Online press release campaign
- Being a guest blogger
- Social bookmarking
- Setting up social networking profiles
- Industry association memberships
- Getting your website reviewed
- Getting your book or other product reviewed
- Offering a testimonial to another site owner you’ve done business with
And I’m sure you can think of plenty more on your own. Don’t just settle for one method of link building. Diversify!
Are Your Links Natural Or Just Look That Way?
Are you busy trying to make your links look natural? Have you hired an search engine optimization company that sold you on a link building plan based on making your links appear natural? If so, fire them. Your links should not appear natural. They should be natural.
It happens all the time. Some new web entrepreneur or small business person trying to make the migration to online marketing reads an e-book, or a blog post, about how important links are and decide to do a little link building. Either they are going the budget route and doing it themselves or they hire a company to do it on the cheap under the guise that those links will appear like natural links. Uhm, guys, if your links are natural then they will look natural. Comprende?
It’s not hard. Actually, link building is fairly time consuming and arduous. But understanding the importance of it isn’t hard. And understand that au natural means more than mere appearances. You aren’t running for Miss America. You’re building your business. So don’t cut corners and don’t try to look like the most beautiful, intelligent, talented woman on the stage. Put the effort in and be the most beautiful, intelligent, talented pageant girl on the stage. See the difference?
Premium WordPress Themes – Link Structure
Most of us consider optimization of links to be mostly about inbound links. While inbound links are important, they aren’t the only links that are important. You also need to optimize your internal links to prevent broken links, good traffic flow, and PR flow.
Now, I’m not necessarily talking about your navigational menu, although that’s a good place to start. You want your links to be good, solid hypertext links, not dynamic links. For instance, those snazzy little drop-down menus on your nav bar? They don’t really help you. Sure, they look cool, but for search engine optimization purposes they are hurting you because they just won’t get crawled.
So step 1 of your link optimization strategy should be crawlability. Any links that don’t get crawled are a big ding in your search engine armor.
Also, be sure to use the proper anchor text for your internal links. That means using keywords that are appropriate for the linking page. And title attributes for your links can increase your optimization efforts as well.

I bet you never thought I’d quote Guns N Roses lyrics on this blog, but since Google has issued its new analytics software, Urchin, into beta, I thought it would be appropriate. Premium WordPress Theme is minimal, clean, modern, Seo friendly, responsive in http://www.ewordpressthemes.com/.
The Google Analytics Blog has a cool screenshot of what the cool new software looks like. What I like about Urchin is that you can actually run Google-like analytics right from your desktop, which is real cool if you have uncrawlable web pages that you want stats on. For instance, if you need to analyze what goes on behind your firewalls or you have a password-protected membership site and want to see what your members are up to. It’s also useful if you prefer to store your analytics information on your local server rather than have to log in to Google every time you want to see it.
There is a 90-day free beta version available, but the cost of the software upon final rollout will be $2,995. Features include:
- More accurate geo-identification of visitors
- Cross-segmentation options similar to Google Analytics

Premium WordPress Themes – Well Together
Some WordPress bloggers, I’ve discovered, try to take their limited knowledge of HTML and apply it to their blogs. You can’t do that. The reason is real simple: You aren’t building a web page.
If you want to build web pages, that’s fine. Do it in a text editor and ftp it. WordPress was not designed for that. You can build really cool web pages in WordPress, but not in HTML. All you have to do is create a page and start typing. WordPress does the rest. That’s the beauty of the software program.
That said, there are some limited HTML code that you can use to enhance your blog posts. Even then, WordPress has tag icons that you can click on for most of them:
- b for bold
- i for italics
- link for hyperlink
- b-quote for block quote
- img for inserting an image from another place online
- ul for unordered list
- ol for ordered list
- li for list time
- more for creating jumps
All you have to do to use any of these icons is highlight the text you want it to apply to and click the icon. You’ll get bold text or a hyperlink, or whatever it was you were trying to create. Other tags you can use for which there are no buttons include:
- p align=”right” or “left” for text or images you want aligned and wrapped a certain way
- center is a tag you can use to center photos and text
- strike is a tag you can use to strike through certain words, like this
- u is the code for underlining a word
Beyond these, there are certain tag attributes that you can use as a part of your tag and code strategy. Title attributes, target=”new” for opening a link in a new page, height and width dimensions for graphics, and other similar attributes that you can add on to your tags are acceptable. You can even create tables as long as you don’t get too complex with your codes. But that’s about it. There aren’t a lot of other HTML options for you.

So you’ve decided that you want a part of your site to be secure. Good for you. But how do you ensure that it stays secure?
Just in case you aren’t aware of it. Any time you see http:// in an URL, it means you are looking at a non-secure web page. By contrast, https:// denotes that the web page is secure. Typically, you’ll see the https:// in the URL on pay pages, whenever you are purchasing something and you need to give out credit card information or other personal data. If you don’t see the https:// on a page that asks for your personal or private information then run away. Don’t give up your information because it isn’t secure.
But there are other reasons for want to ensure certain web pages are secure. Maybe you have a membership site and you want to restrict access to the membership benefits of your site to your visitors who are not members. You may not necessarily need the https:// distinction in those pages, but you definitely should have a password system to give access to those site visitors who are members. First, the danger of web security. You might make the mistake, if you are new to this area of webmastering, of leaving an unsecure link leading from the non-secure part of your site to the secure part of your site. If that happens then there is a hole in your security and anyone will be able to get in. To prevent that from happening you can add “nofollow” and “noindex” tags to your robots.txt file or meta tag. By keeping the search engine spiders from crawling your links and indexing your secure pages, you ensure that security holes are not leaked and that future searchers do not find your secure web pages in the SERPs. You already know why it’s important to look at your trends in analytics. But which trends are important? In a word, it depends on what type of site you are running, but there are certain trends that should be important to every webmaster. Bounce rate is generally thought of as an important metric. That is true for the most part but if your site is an AdSense site then you’d expect that your traffic is going to show up, click and ad and leave. Bounce rate might not necessarily reflect the important details for your site in that case so understand that there are exceptions to every rule. Nevertheless, there are some important metrics to follow. I recommend that, for most websites, you should pay attention to the following metrics:
- Visitors and Unique Visitors
- Pages Per Visit
- Bounce Rate (very important for e-commerce sites)
- Average Time On Site
- Most Popular Pages
- Traffic Sources
- Keywords Trending
- Establish some goals and track how close you to get to achieving them
If possible, check these stats for both your organic search engine optimization results and paid search campaigns. Create custom reports to help you drill down the stats for analyzing metrical data that is unique to your site. Every webmaster has information that is important for their site but that might not be important for someone else’s site. Don’t be afraid to identify those and focus on those trends as well.
What’s Really Important, And Why?
If you do business online at all then you will have to face the fact that analytics is an important part of conducting that business. Whether you rely completely on organic search results and search engine optimization, pay per click, or a combination, you’ll have to measure your performance against results and that requires some form of analytics package. But what should you measure?
First, before getting into specifics about what you should measure, how about a little discussion on why you should measure. In essence, you want to look at the trends. Individual numbers by themselves don’t really tell the story. Numbers over time are the story.
Here’s what I mean: Let’s say you know that you had 1,000 visitors last month of which 899 were unique. Of those, you saw 200 page views on your most important landing page and 5 conversions. That’s great, but how do you interpret that data?
Those statistics exist in a vacuum. They mean nothing until you measure them against previous months. If the six months prior to last month you saw more than 2,000 visitors each with more than 1,500 being unique and that most important landing page saw more than 500 page views with more than 10 conversions – last month doesn’t look so good now, does it? You may have seen a profit last month, but that profit was a decline from your history so that’s not good. Now you must discover what caused the decline and how to fix it. That’s why you engage in analytics tracking and trend analysis.

Use Analytics To Improve
I specifically love Point #7: Search, Organic, Get Good At It.
This should be a gentle reminder that all web business begins with organic search. You may use analytics heavily for PPC, and you should, but how well do you use it for organic search? Here are three ways that you can use analytics to improve your organic search campaigns and search engine optimization efforts:
Learn and Know Your Top Search Queries (from Avinash): This is actually a Webmaster Tools metric, but you can use it alongside your analytics program and you should. By knowing what your top search queries are, you know full well how your users are using your website. By extension, you also know how they are not using it. Focus your monetization efforts on those top queries and you can’t go wrong.
What Are Your Top Traffic Sources?: This is very telling. Is your traffic coming from Google? From social media sites? From third party sites? Use this information to leverage your SEO and PPC combined efforts or to better your organic SEO campaigns. Knowing where your traffic comes from is useful in segmentation efforts as well (Avinash’s No. 1 point).
Bounce Rates: Bounce rates are very important. Avinash says this is your only true analytics BFF (point No. 3). Your bounce rates tell you the quality of your pages. If you have a high number of bounces then you need to improve your pages. Low number of bounces then you’re doing fine. But what about conversions? Know how to analyze your bounce rates.
There is a lot more to learn about analytics than this, but these three points are a starter for newbies and if you really want to learn about analytics, I suggest learning from the master himself. Sitemaps are very important if you want all of the pages on your website to be indexed by the search engines. They are particularly important if you have a large website. Small sites with five or six pages don’t need them most of the time. But sites larger than 25 pages should have a sitemap as part of your search engine optimization strategy.
Google has recently introduced its Google Sitemap Generator. While I haven’t tested the tool, I can’t imagine that Google would roll out a product of this nature without it being suitable enough to handle the task. After all, Google relies heavily on sitemaps for all kinds of websites. Its own reputation is at stake.
The sitemap generator is in beta. That means there may be some bugs, but it is open source so you can tweak to it meet your specific needs. Keep in mind that Google supports sitemap formats that other search engines do not support, but the primary file types (XML, TXT, and HTML) are supported by all the search engines that support sitemaps so you can submit your generated sitemaps to all of the search engines.
